CRAIG BILL

Starry Arch

FL6580

Signature2GIF.gif

I have wanted for years to get the Landscape Arch with the star trails above...  Finally, I had a chance!  To pull off a complete image like this, I have to shoot 550 exposures over several hours. Usually there is color variations in the stars and sky due to horizon lights and clouds as well as there intrinsic star colors. But this was a very calm night and exposed as a dreamy green and bluish composition.

Landscape Arch found in Arches National Park, Utah, is magnificent!  In 1995, an underside piece of the arch fell - closing off the trails from then on.  Its only a matter of time and this arch will likely fall in my lifetime - One of the largest spanning arches in the world.  See it soon if you have a chance.
